Driving at night with headlights on carries a high accident risk and is dangerous. Nearby, there’s a hot spring that leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. There’s also a restaurant.
Day2 Toward Biei, Mount Asahidake, and Asahikawa

- Asahidake(Taisetsuzan National Park, you can take the ropeway and hike to the summit.)

Day3 Toward Lake Saroma and Abashiri
There are two ways to get from Asahikawa to Abashiri.
Pattern 1: How to get to Abashiri from the general roads in Taisetsuzan National Park.
There are sections along the way without gas stations, so be sure to fill up your tank beforehand.
※There are areas with no cell phone reception. This is also an area where deer, foxes, and other wildlife frequently appear.

Pattern 2: Take the free expressway. This saves nearly an hour compared to Pattern 1.
This route is good for those in a hurry.

Day4 Toward Shiretoko and Rausu

- Shiretoko Five Lakes(The elevated boardwalk at Shiretoko Five lakes in Shiretoko National Park is safe because it is surrounded by an electric fence (7000V).


Beware of wildlife.
Hokkaido is home to many wild animals.
Foxes, deer, raccoon dogs, red-crowned cranes, small birds like the Siberian long-tailed tit and owls, and brown bears.
They inhabit areas throughout Hokkaido
Especially at night, animals are frequently encountered.
Please avoid driving at night whenever possible.

Day5 Toward Lake Kussharo and Lake Akan

- Lake Mashū Observation Deck 3(Akan-Mashū National Park Known as “Misty Lake Mashū” for its frequent fog, but you might get fortunate if you visit on a sunny day. You may take a break on the terrace.)
- Mount Sulfur(The closest vent observation spot in Japan. Feel the power of the Earth.。)

- Soft-serve ice cream(Milk lovers will enjoy their soft serve ice cream made with milk containing 4.0% or more milk fat. Available only during the summer season. (Häagen-Dazs ice cream uses milk from this town.)
- Cape Nosappu(Japan’s easternmost point. It’s a bit of a drive to get there. If you have time to spare, it might be worth a visit. Taie-The shop-restaurant Tai-e, exclusive to Nemuro, is recommended for their pork skewers bento box, grilled to order! You can also try venison here.)


What is Kushiro Washo Market’s famous “Katte-don”?
- Select your rice portion size (large, medium, small) and place your order. You can also order miso soup at this time. Pay for your rice.
- At the seafood toppings counter, order your preferred seafood items like tuna, salmon, shrimp, etc. Prices vary for each item. Pay for your selected seafood toppings.
